In 2005, Anita co-founded NYCRx with the NYC Department of Health, enabling NYC federally qualified health centers to dispense prescription drugs using the 340B federal drug discount program and enhancing access to low-cost prescription medications for uninsured patients.

As the inaugural executive director of PAGNY Health and Research Foundation in 2018, Anita supported four early-career physician researchers in securing $3 million for their projects. Anita is a Registered Pharmacist. She also holds a Master's degree in Public Health with a major in Health Administration from Columbia University.
