Our Story
In 2016, Victor Montori was inspired to write a series of essays, Why We Revolt, about the ways that healthcare was failing both patients and clinicians, and the urgent need to refocus on care.
Victor connected with Phil Warburton, the president of the Ralph T. and Esther L. Warburton Foundation, who was looking to expand and grow a patient empowerment initiative for caring relationships modeled on his father’s clinical practice in Family Medicine in Canton, Ohio.
Since then, The Patient Revolution community has grown to become a worldwide movement for care.
Our Fellows and community include patients, clinicians, caregivers, educators, researchers, administrators and policymakers from around the globe. Selfless contributions of time and talent have allowed TPR to expand its offerings and impact.
Our near-term goals include expanding our community, educating and equipping others with the language and skills to drive radical change, and partnering with bold healthcare leaders who know that healthcare as it is today is unsustainable.
We are motivated by our collective 100-year vision for a wholly different healthcare environment around the globe; one that rejects industrialization and greed and instead fosters healing relationships between patients and clinicians.
