Hamaad Khan

Hamaad Khan is a graduate medical student, currently working as Development Officer for the Global Social Prescribing Alliance. He studied Neuroscience at King’s College London for his undergraduate degree, and then went on to complete his MSc in Global Health and Development at University College London just before starting medical school.
Hamaad is keenly interested in developing global health systems with a vision of health promotion and disease prevention. His research looks at international models of social prescribing implementation. He has authored the first global report on social prescribing in collaboration with the WHO and NASP, detailing advancements in social prescribing across 24 different countries. He is passionate about championing this learning in his clinical capacity to affect wider systemic change in the future health workforce. He co-leads the Global Social Prescribing Student Council, collaborating with student leaders around the world to advance social prescribing teaching across health curricula.
In 2022, Hamaad was the youngest awardee for the Hillary International Award for Health & Care Leadership in recognition of his advocacy in tackling overprescribing with medical education.
