Sophia Walker

Sophia Walker is a patient editor at the BMJ. She builds on her experience of living with a chronic condition (type 1 diabetes) since the age of six to advocate for the increased role of the patient perspective in treatment research and development, healthcare delivery, outcomes research and quality improvement. She has a background in clinical trial management, pharmaceutical market access, and commercialisation and communication strategies. She holds an MSc in Health, Community, and Development from the London School of Economics. After 15 years living in the UK, she moved back to the US in August 2022.
